Atlanta Rapper Young Vito Formally Charged In Slim Dunkin Murder

Young Vito, the rapper police say shot and killed Slim Dunkin in December of last year was indicted by a grand jury in Georgia on Tuesday. More After The Jump.



The 29 year old Vito, born Vinson Hardimon, was formally charged of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. It was first reported that Dunkin was murdered in an argument over a piece of candy. Now, reports say that Hardimon and Dunkin, born Mario Hamilton, fought over recording time. During a fight between Hardimon and Hamilton, Hamilton was shot in the chest. He was then rushed to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Slim Dunkin
One of the more popular members of Waka Flocka Flame's Brick Squad Monopoly crew, he rapped alongside Waka Flocka on his 2010 studio album, Flockaveli, on several tracks. He was also featured on Gucci Mane & V-Nasty's BAYTL LP last year. Slim Dunkin also had a number of solo mixtape releases. Last Holloween he released Menace II Society, a tape that featured, among others, Roscoe Dash and Gucci Mane.

The day after Dunkin's death, Flocka wrote, via Twitter, "WISH IT WAS ME ... MY F---ING RIGHT HAND IS GONE,". Flocka continued to express pain on Twitter, writing "Damn I feel dead" and "IM LOST" in reaction to the news. A trial date for Young Vito has not yet been set.
